Monty is a 2001 model with a pretty fancy chassis! This eye-catching double homozygous black tobiano stallion stands over 16.1HH. He has a beautiful head, great bone and conformation and that wonderful willing disposition that we all wish our horses had. Both his sire, Chics Bandit and his dam, Poco Royal Lace, have that wonderful gentle nature and they have certainly passed it on to Monty. He is very easy to work with. When we started, our goal was to breed our own black tobianos and toveros from non-black (bays and browns) using Poco Bueno and working cowhorse bloodlines. We are very happy that we have achieved that and have been so blessed with Monty. We are very proud of the results - he sires good big, strong foals with lots of color! Monty has been tested by Animal Genetics and is double homozygous. That means he is homozygous for the tobiano gene as well as the black color. He will never produce a red foal regardless of the color of the dam. The foals will all be black based - black, brown, bay. If bred to palominos, roans, duns or greys, the foals could be also buckskins, blue roans, grullos and greys. Monty's has a very good pedigree. He boasts 6 crosses to King, 4x to Poco Bueno, 2x to Three Bars and 5x to Leo, in addition to Royal King, Top Deck, Old Tom Cat, Steel Bars, Good, Eternal Sun, Leolita, Hard Twist and Cowboy P-12.
